RTO Forum

In March 2017, TRA will seek Expressions of Interest (EOI) from registered training organisations (RTOs) to conduct skills assessment services on its behalf for the next three years. In preparation for the EOI, TRA is hosting a forum in Canberra on Monday 6 March 2017, to provide interested RTOs with information about the EOI process.

The forum will outline:

  • TRA Programs

  • fraud and integrity

  • the evaluation criteria used by TRA to select RTOs to deliver skills assessment services on its behalf

  • what is expected in a submission

  • the EOI evaluation process.

TRA RTO skills recognition services currently offer assessments for the following industries:

  • Airconditioning and refrigeration

  • Automotive

  • Construction and property services

  • Electrotechnology

  • Hospitality

  • Metals and engineering

  • Miscellaneous technicians and trades workers (Childcare centre managers, dental technicians, hairdressers, etc)

  • Plumbing

TRA staff will be available to answer any questions about the EOI process.

To meet the EOI selection criteria, RTOs will need to have experience in:

  • managing recognition of prior learning (RPL) processes, and assessing training package qualifications in a range of occupations and countries (457 Skills Assessment Program, Offshore Skills Assessment Program and Trades Recognition Service), or

  • delivering workplace assessment services across a range of occupations (Job Ready Program)

Participants are responsible for their own travel.
