Migration Points Advice is available if you have a successful skills assessment and you are seeking to apply to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) for a points tested visa in a skilled occupation assessed by TRA.
You should check with DIBP whether you require points advice before submitting an application to TRA.
The Migration Points Advice service involves TRA verifying the evidence you send of your qualifications and employment experience and assessing whether it is comparable with Australian standards for your nominated occupation.
To receive points advice you must provide documents to show that you:
- have a qualification comparable to the Australian qualification, or apprenticeship for your nominated occupation, or an Australian qualification, and
- have completed full-time (or equivalent part-time) paid employment during the last 10 years in your nominated occupation.
For more details on the requirements for QUALIFICATIONS, please refer to Section 2.8 of the Migration Points Advice Applicant Guidelines.
For more details on the requirements for EMPLOYMENT, please refer to Section 2.9 of the Migration Points Advice Applicant Guidelines.
