Migration Points Advice
Migration Points Advice (MPA) is available from Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) if you have a successful skills assessment and you are seeking to apply to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) for a points tested visa in a skilled occupation assessed by TRA.
You should check with DIBP whether you require points advice before submitting an application to TRA.
The Migration Points Advice service compares your qualifications and employment to the Australian standards for your nominated occupation.
It is expected that you will already hold a successful skills assessment in one of the occupations assessed by TRA before applying for Migration Points Advice. This may have been issued by TRA or a TRA-approved Registered Training Organisation.
The Migration Points Advice Applicant Guidelines contain detailed information about this program including program purpose, applicant obligations, eligibility, evidence and the assessment process. You should not apply for this program until you have read and understood the Program Guidelines. You can navigate to the Program Guidelines using the left hand navigation bar or by clicking here.
After assessing your application TRA will provide you with a letter listing the qualifications and employment periods over the past ten years that have been assessed as comparable to Australian standards.
TRA provides migration points advice only. TRA is not responsible for awarding points. The awarding of points remains at the discretion of delegated officers of DIBP.
