Step 1 - PSA
The Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA) verifies an international student graduate's Australian qualification and any employment and/or vocational placement undertaken in an Australian workplace.
To be eligible to apply for a PSA, you must have:
held an international student visa to study in Australia
a qualification relevant to an occupation assessed by TRA awarded by a CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students) registered training organisation as a result of study in Australia
evidence of a minimum of 360 hours employment and/or a vocational placement relevant to your qualification and nominated occupation that was completed in an Australian workplace within three years prior to the online application.
A successful PSA Outcome can be used to apply to the Department on Immigration and Border Protection for a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485), if the occupation assessed appears on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL). It will also enable you to complete Steps 2-4 of the JRP.
TRA may consider other visas with full work rights on a case by case basis.
How to apply
You must complete all the mandatory fields, and pay the application fee, through the Online Portal. Application documents must be posted to TRA within 30 working days of the online submission date for the application to be registered.
