We wish to update you with the following new Skills in Demand (SID) visa.
TRA remains the authorised assessing authority for 23 occupations requiring a skills assessment under the new Skills in Demand (SID) visa (Core Skills stream) (News page). Applicants who require a SID skills assessment for an occupation where TRA is the responsible authority should continue to apply through TRA’s Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) skills assessment program (Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) Skills Assessment | Trades Recognition Australia).
TSS applications received by TRA from 7 December 2024 will be assessed for the Skills in Demand visa. Applicants who applied for a TSS skills assessment prior to 7 December 2024 and are waiting for an assessment outcome should check with the Department of Home Affairs to see whether the assessment is still required.
